KIDS: SEND Participation and Engagement in Barnsley
Following a successful procurement process Barnsley Council is pleased to announce that it has awarded a two year contract to the national charity KIDS.
KIDS currently support over 13,500 disabled children, young people and their families every year by delivering over 120 services throughout England. The role of KIDS will be to support the development of a parent carer forum in Barnsley to work with us as a local authority, education settings, health providers and other providers to make sure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and families.
Forums usually have a steering group of parents who lead this work and listen to the views of other parents in the local area to make sure they know what is important to them. Forums are keen to hear from as many parents as possible.
KIDS have now recruited a full time participation coordinator and are planning a launch event during the summer. This will be a family fun day, held at a local venue, with lots of activities for the whole family such as games, face painting, children’s entertainment etc. There will be an opportunity for interested parents to meet the team and influence any future plans. KIDS will send out further information in due course, or if you would like them to contact you directly with information updates please email: Mellissa.Mackell@kids.org.uk
Keep checking back on this page for further updates and more information shortly as KIDS will be updating the record for parents very soon.
