Jayne Sephton (Childminder)
I am an experienced childminder of 24 years working in the Darton/Mapplewell area. I aim to provide a quality childminding service that is tailored to suit your family needs. I am passionate about providing every child in my care the opportunity to not only reach his or her full potential but also to experience a warm loving home-based environment.
I have a play room which filters off into the dining room and living room. Outside I have an enclosed grassed garden area which is secure. I believe in working in partnership with parents/carers as with their knowledge about the child I can provide a play based curriculum which is planned around each child's interests, likes, stages of development and family experiences. Activities and experiences are planned within the EYFS and recorded in individual journals.
I hold an up to date Paediatric First Aid Certificate, completed the Safeguarding in Early Years including Designated Safeguarding Lead training and I hold a NVQ Level 3 qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development. I have also completed other relevant training to do with childcare. I offer full and part time childcare places along with just school holiday cover.
I also offer FREE funded education places to eligible 2, 3 and 4 years olds, plus the 30 hours extended entitlement for eligiable careers. Children are taken out and about to local playgroups, parks, libraries, play areas and the farm.

NOTE: I have a West Highland White dog who has a excellent temperament which the children can interact with and get the feel of how important it is to care for animals. Research shows that caring and petting animals has a "feel good factor" and is good for our well being and mental health.

Each child's individual needs are supported to meet each child's needs.
I complete EYFS tracking forms on your child. This is done when your child first starts (this gives me a starting point). Over a period of time this will show your childs development and may or may not identify any additional needs your child may have. I will talk to you and help you access additional help, supported by individual planning and assessments (EYFS).
I work in partnership with parents and any other professionals involved with the child.
I share information through their EYFS learning jounals on a regular basis.
I offer settling in visits, have a home from home environment, work closely with parents / carers and do learning jounals to keep you updated on your child's developments.
I work closely with local schools when needed.
