Local Offer
Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
I follow the Early Years foundation Stage guidance for children 0-5 years, the EYFS is a framework of expectation not a curriculum.
Support provided will be dependant on the needs of the child and this will be assessed through observing the child and assessing progress, this will then be shared with you and any additional or individual needs can be differentiated for within activities etc.
All children's personal, social and emotional development will be supported through delivery of the EYFS.
Ongoing support will be given through the regular sharing of information both verbal and written, with parents and any other professionals involved.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
Additional services may be accessed outside of the setting by referral and signposting, dependant on needs of the child
I do not have any specialist knowledge at present but I am willing to attend any necessary training and development required including medical intervention processes.
Transition into and out of my care will be supported with the sharing of information as appropriate.
- How accessible is our setting?
No wheelchair access due to steps to both front and back door. Downstairs toilet facilities are available.
As I am a small setting any trips and outside activities will be within ratio and aditional support can be sourced if required.
