Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
I work in partnership with parents and any relevant professionals finding out about the child and their specific needs.
I would access additional training/research if I took on a child with a condition I didn't know much about. Carers are welcome to stay in setting with prior notice (dependant on other children present at the time)
I work with the Early Years Foundation Stage this is an individualised play based curriculum, so it will always be matched to your child's needs.
The Early Years Foundation Stage ensures I keep records of your child's development and achievements and share these with you regularly
As a home based child minder I am each child's key person and take pride in valuing each as an individual
I work in close with local schools and nurseries and support all children though transitions planning to their needs.
This decision is made in partnership with parents, professionals and the child
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
Although I do not have any specific specialisms I am more than willing to complete training to meet you child's needs.
During my early years proffesional status I covered the basics of autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome.
- How accessible is our setting?
As an individualised play based curriculum all children are always included
I have a multi layered garden which makes it harder to access for children who have mobility difficulties
As an individualised play based curriculum resources are matched to childen's needs
