How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?

Baseline assessment and observation, using EYFS as a guide. Working with other professionals i.e. Health Visitor + GP

Look at each child's individual needs and follow professional guidance/parental views to encourage development including buying any additional resources.

Through observations and using EYFS I will gauge the children's needs and what activities/tools they will need to encourage them.

For young children I will use home to placement books and talk to the parents of all children on a regular basis

All children will be valued for their individuality and unique personalities. Activities will be based on children's interests so they gain as much out of it as possible

Parents are welcome at any time to come and visit or help out on trips etc.

What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?

None at present but I plan to go on more courses in the future

I am looking at taking a SEND course once I am up and running or if a child is coming to my placement sooner.

How accessible is our setting?

We will go to the park and playgroups for educational purposes as well as normal day to day activities such as shopping.

Everything is on the ground floor

As and when needed I will change and allocate to every child's needs.
