The warmest of welcomes awaits all who come to Busy Bees from the highly skilled, very well qualified and longstanding staff, with many years of experience in the education and care of young children. Busy Bees specialises in Early Years, only taking children from 0-5 years old.
Children are accommodated in three purposely designed rooms, all age appropriately resourced and furnished and enjoys two secure outdoor play areas, with regular local trips out. Our on site chef provides delicious, nutritious meals and snacks which are shopped for and cooked freshly everyday.
Busy Bees enjoys a lovely central location in Penistone, yet tucked off the high street adjacent to the Trans Pennine Trail. Come along and meet our wonderful staff team, have a look around and have your questions answered, you wont be disappointed.

- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
,At Busy Bees we offer early identification of additional needs and will do our utmost in conjunction with parents, to devise play plans to enable appropriate progression. We have access to specialist services and expert advice, should this be needed.
We have a highly inclusive environment with deeply caring, genuine staff of many years experience. Each child is supported at a level appropriate to their individual needs.
We offer a differentiated curriculum to meet individual needs, devised from child's observed starting points.
We ensure the full involvement of parents at all levels and Inclusive home learning plans.
Children's well being is our highest priority with individuals treated as such.
We offer tailored transitions to suit individual needs upon entry, when moving between rooms and at transition onto the next setting.
Key persons who have worked with and observed children will share information with our SENCo if they feel a child would benefit from some extra support. Our SENCo would then chat with parents and a decision made together as to the best course of action for the individual child.
We do surveys and hand out feedback and review sheets for parents to complete.
We welcome feedback and provide a comments book.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
Barnsley has broad specialist services that we are able to draw upon.
Staff have specialised training and/or experience in most areas of need. Our qualified SENCO keeps up to date at regular SENCO meetings and we are able to access specific training as and when required.
- How accessible is our setting?
At Busy Bees we ensure all children are included in all activities with appropriate modifications made, risk assessments under taken and if need be extra support provided.
We have fully accessible premises with ramp entry, one level throughout, wheelchair accessible toilet facilities and designated parking place directly outside our entry gate.
We ensure that whatever ability level a child is working at, regardless of age, the resources will be matched to this in order to offer stimulation and to challenge and stretch them.
