Grimethorpe Family Centre has recently undergone some building works and we have a fantastic brand new entrance and purpose built centre. We have a fabulously large, bright community room which is separated into different areas for our baby and toddler groups and offer loads of space to run our afterschool and holiday activities in. we also have a spacious meeting room where we also deliver some of our services from.

We offer lots of opportunities for you and your family to spend quality time together, younger children can explore new experiences and learn through play and older children can enjoy taking part in afterschool craft session where they can get creative!

During our baby and toddler groups we provide lots of different fun activities including craft and messy play activities and we have an interactive snack time where your child can enjoy a healthy snack; you can just drop in to the baby groups and play workshops.

Sessions for older children and their families include craft and physical activities, during the summer holidays we have an exciting and full timetable of events and trips that children and young people of all ages can attend with their families. For most of our groups we ask for a contribution of only £1.50 per family, all of the contributions go back into the centre to provide snacks and resources so we can continue to offer high quality services to the community.

We run a rolling programme of baby yoga and baby massage from Grimethorpe and Cudworth venues. Baby massage offers special one to one time with your baby and can support any troubles such as colic and trapped wind and help your baby to settle. Baby yoga is a fun and informal group which can support your baby to strengthen muscles and learn them to use muscles that they have not used before. Massage and yoga must be booked through contacting the centre.

We have 4 Outreach Workers who deliver our services from both Grimethorpe and Cudworth Family Centres. We have recently started to work in partnership with local schools to run an exciting new programme of Heart Start, teaching children in years 5 & 6 how to react in an emergency situation, CPR and dealing with choking.

The midwifery team run a hub from the centre on a daily basis, appointments must be made through your doctor or midwife. You can also get your free Healthy Start vitamins from reception too!

Grimethorpe Family Centre has a fantastic Nursery on site with a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating, we offer funded sessions for 2, 3 & 4 year olds. The nursery is open on a sessional basis and opens term time only.
