Please note that due to Covid-19 there are currently no face to face sessions running from either the Family Centre or the Library, but don't worry we still have lots that you can do to keep you all busy. We will update you as soon as we have any further news as to when the face to face sessions will resume within the centres. Royston Family centre caters for children and young people aged 0 – 19 or 25 years with a disability. Royston Family centre is an Outreach venue; this means it will only be accessible when sessions are running. Royston Family Centre offers a community room where all of the services are run from. The centre is located within the grounds of Meadstead Primary Academy. The services we offer support children and their families in spending quality time together, younger children and babies have the option to explore new experiences and learn new skills through play, whilst the older school aged children can access the out of school clubs, school holiday events and trips that are offered throughout the year.
Baby massage runs from the centre every term, please call Lundwood Family Centre (01226 248564) if you would like to be added to he waiting list. Baby massage is a course designed to support you and your baby in having one to one time together and can also offer support with bonding, colic and helping baby to settle and relax. Sensory sessions run on a Thursday morning 10.00 – 11.00 term time only this session is for parents and children under the age of 12 months. Do you like to get messy? Do you want to meet new people? Do you like to have messy fun with your little one?
Due to room capacity at the Family Centre every Tuesday afternoon term time only we have a parent and toddler session that runs from the upstairs rooms in the Library. This is for children from birth to 5. We have messy exploratory play within each session and lots of different natural, heuristic resources for the children to access. You are more than welcome to come along to join us the session is £1.50 per family with a snack included.
There is also a Book start session which runs from The library in Royston. This session is for children and their parents/carers up to the age of 5 and we meet every Friday morning term time only 10.00 - 11.00. each week we explore different stories and utilise props to make the stories come to life more. Please come along and join us the session is £1.50 per family.

Please note that the Family Centre has a seperate entrance to the school.
To access the centre you will need to use the back entrance to the school which is located on Doles crescent. Please follow the path around and press the buzzer to alert a member of staff that you are waiting to be allowed in. There will only be a member of staff in the venue when sessions are running. The Outreach team at Lundwood cover sessions running both in Lundwood and at Royston. We try our best to accommodate any needs you may have.
All venues utilised to run sessions are suitable to meet the needs of all your families requirements. We have accessible spaces to store pushchairs and also in the Library there is a lift to offer pushchairs and wheelchairs access to the second floor. There are also designated spaces to change nappies and disabled toilet facilities in all venues.
