YMCA Barnsley - TYI Friday
The TYI Friday sessions (THANK YOU IT'S FRIDAY) take place at YMCA Barnsley on Fridays during term time at the following times:
- YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 8-11 YEARS - 4:00-6:00pm
- YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 11-19 YEARS - 6:30-8:30pm
TYI Friday (THANK YOU IT'S FRIDAY) is part of the Aiming High Short Breaks Provision and provides a range of youth club type activities for participants including personal and social development. The programme of activities usually includes arts & crafts, sports & games, creative media & music, healthy living, seasonal activities, along with issue based and independent skills projects and opportunities for peer support and volunteering.

Providing a short breaks opportunity as part of the Aiming High programme.
The provision is a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for its participants and a programme of young people led activities.
TYI Friday is Open Access to children and young people with mild to moderate SEND.
There is no cost to access this provision.
We do have fliers and our sessions and parents receive information about our sessions in newsletters from the Aiming High service and we also recruit through word of mouth via parents and carers.
We have an experienced staff team who are appropriately skilled and qualified for their work with children and young people with SEND.

TYI Friday is a leisure activity through which they will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of personal and social skills.

The YMCA building is fully accessible and there is a suitably experienced staff team who are appropriately skilled and qualified.

Our service is funding reliant via the Aiming High programme, however we are always exploring opportunities to support the continued professional development or our staff volunteers.
