YMCA Barnsley - TYI Friday
The TYI Friday sessions (THANK YOU IT'S FRIDAY) take place at YMCA Barnsley on Fridays during term time at the following times:
- CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 8-11 YEARS - 4:00-6:00pm (Short Breaks Referral Required)
- YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 11-19 YEARS - 6:30-8:30pm (Short Breaks Referral Required)
TYI Friday (THANK YOU IT'S FRIDAY) is part of the Short Breaks Local offer and provides a range of youth club type activities, opportunities for social interaction, meeting and making friends and, personal and social development and learning new skills. Activities could include arts & crafts, sports & games, games consoles, TV & music, pool, table tennis, seasonal activities , trips and visits along with projects and support around personal safety, health & wellbeing, relevant issues, independence skills, and opportunities for peer support and volunteering.

Short Breaks Panel Referral Required
Providing a short breaks opportunity as part of the Local Offer.
The provision is a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for its participants and a programme of young people led activities.
TYI Friday is Open Access to children and young people with mild to moderate SEND but requires a Short Breaks Referral
There is no cost to access this provision.
We have an experienced staff team who are appropriately skilled and qualified for their work with children and young people with SEND.

TYI Friday is a leisure activity through which they will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of personal and social skills.

The YMCA building is fully accessible and there is a suitably experienced staff team who are appropriately skilled and qualified.

Our service is funding reliant via the Aiming High programme, however we are always exploring opportunities to support the continued professional development or our staff volunteers.
