Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
I will observe and record any concerns and use the Early Years Foundation Stage to inform my understanding.
Dependent on the needs of the child, individual support will be provided.
The Early Years Foundation Stage will be adapted to ensure that levels are appropriately set and recorded. Regular communication and sharing of information with parents and professionals will be put in place to support this
As a small setting I am able to support all children closely in accordance with their need.
Share daily diarys and discussion everyday. Share progress on learning and development. Signposting/ email information. Encourage parents to engage in local activities.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
I will support signposting to other services that I am unable to provide.
Behaviour Training (Passport to Inclusion)
SEND awareness training
SENCO full day training
- How accessible is our setting?
Through the small numbers I care for and appropriate risk assessments I will support inclusivity however I have steps to the front door and into the garden. Toilet upstairs.
Any other resources will be sourced dependant on need.
