Where is it?
Men’s Programme is held @ Oakwell Stadium, Barnsley
Women’s Programme is held @ Churchfield Primary School, Cudworth
How much is it?
Thanks to local government funding these sessions are completely FREE of charge.
What happens at a session?
The programme consists of a series of two-hour workshops. In the first half of each workshop, Reds in the community staff provide participants with information regarding diet, nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
They also provide participants with one-to-one support in relation to keeping food diaries to help them achieve individual goals and lifestyle changes.
Participants’ health measurements are taken at the beginning, middle and end of the programme to monitor individual progress throughout and to act as a motivator.
In the second half of each weekly workshop, qualified coaches deliver physical activity. The coaches deliver a progressively challenging activity programme consisting of warm-ups, circuit training, strength & conditioning work and a cool down.
Will it be too hard for me?
Sessions can be personalised and alternative activities created where necessary to respond to individuals with diverse physical activity needs and abilities.
The style of the programme encourages team spirit and past participants have expressed their appreciation at being a part of an inclusive and successful programme.
