The Club offers a wide range of activities and play opportunites for children with disabilities. All our areas are on one level and have access to a lift and disabled toilet facilities. Club can also offer one to one care if a child requires it.
Depending on the nature of the disability we have staff who have knowledge and understanding of childrens needs. We take children who have short breaks funding and staff are happy to undergo any medication training as required. Staff are happy to adminster meddication, as long as the relevant paperwork is filled in and training has been undertaken if needed.
Staff are always happy to speak to other professionals regarding the child or children. We liaise with other providers and schools as and when needed. Parent/Carers and children have a suggestion monster, to put their views and any comments into him so that we can act upon them.
Parent and children are asked to come and view the setting to meet other children and meet staff as well. So that both parties have a chance to see how individal needs will be met.
Parents/Carers recieve feedback by the means for a quick check text to let them know how their child is doing. When the child gets picked up at the end of the session, a member of staff talks to the Parent/Carer about what sort of day they've had and what they have been doing.
In the holidays trips out of the setting are arranged and risk assessments are carried out on the children who are going to attend. Children with disabilities are always catered for when looking at our trips, so that they are accessible to all children.
