Short Breaks for 5 to 8 years
Short Breaks for children aged 5 to 8 are available in the following provisions
Out of School Clubs and Holiday Clubs - there are several holiday clubs around the borough that can be accessed as part of the Short Break service. All staff will receive the relevant training to meet the individual needs of each child. Outdoor Activities – Based at Silverwood Scout Camp. Activities include crafts, using tools (Saws, sheaf knives), preparing food, games and activities, camp fire building. For more information including dates and contact details please click on the name to go to their record.
Newsome Avenue - The unit provides respite care to children and young people aged 5-18 years, who have learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour and or complex health needs.

Direct Payments - Direct Payments are cash payments made to people in lieu of social care support. To receive Direct Payments you will have had an assessment which identifies that you are eligible to receive social care support. Direct Payments aim to give you more flexibility in how your services are provided. By giving you money instead of social care services, you have greater choice and control over your life and are able to make your own decisions about how your care/support is delivered.
