Amanda Hardcastle (Mandy's Little Monkeys)
I have been an Ofsted Registered Childminder for 16yrs. I offer a relaxed safe, secure and caring environment where children can have lots of fun while playing and learning. I can provide 2, 3 and 4 year old funding entitlement and short breaks.
I have a large outdoor play area with lots of resources, and make use of all provisions in my local area, I take regular visits to parks, activity centers, farms, library and playgroups with the children as often as I can.

- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
I do observations and assessments following the EYFS guidelines to help identify any gaps/delays in learning to know when extra help may be needed. When additional needs are identified I will work closely with parents to access support from other agencies.
I meet the needs of individual children by providing care plans, risk assessment and accessing additional training.
I work closely with parents by speaking to them daily about their child and by sending emails and text messages.
I work closely with schools, nursery and other setting in supporting children throughout their transitions.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
I have completed courses on
Moving and Handling
Autism or Naughtyism
Autism Awareness
Risk AssessmentSafeguarding Disabled Children/Early Years
SEND Awareness
First Aid
- How accessible is our setting?
All childrens activities outside of the setting are risk assessed for suitability and planned around the childrens age and ability.
Fully accessible, with wide doors for ease of access. There is currently 1 wheelchair user in the setting. There is a downstairs toilet with a frame and hand washing facilities positioned at child height to help with self-help skills and to help with good basic hygiene. I have equipment for the car to help with getting in and out (swivel seat and window strap).
