Local Offer

Schools Extended Local Offer Response

How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?

Keeping good observations of the children and having the knowledge of what their abilities should be. Having good communication between ourselves and parents/carers

If any concerns about a child progress should arise then discussions with parents and other relevant agencies can be implemented to give extra support where needed.

With the  EYFS (Early years foundation stage) we closely monitor your child's progression for the age range they're at, while in our care, working closely with parents/carers to update you on your children's development

We fill in a learning journey about each child, that parents can view at any time and give feedback. Also observations at regular intervals will also gauge the child's progress. If a parent has anything that they have been doing that helps with their child's learning we can look at implementing that within the setting.

All children will be supervised by ourselves and any concerns will be dicussed with parents/guardians and other professionals

In the run up to the next stage of a child learning development we would start to introduce activities that they will encounter, for example, if a child was going to be starting full time school we would start school driven activities

At the end of a child's daily session we fill out a daily diary sheet for parents to take home which will have a comment slip which parents can return. Also a childs learning journal will be sent home periodically for parents to look through and return with any feedback.

What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?

We are continuously receiving notifications from our local authority regarding training and supplements and where possible we take advantage of these so that we are up-to-date with our knowledge

How accessible is our setting?

All the children in our care, will get a chance to join us on special outings ( walks, parks, farm visits, library) and many more

We have a small step to the entrance to our home, easy access for pushchairs.
