Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
We have a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) within the setting who staff can request help and support from she is also here to talk and guide parents through any assessments needed to support any special needs. We offer 1:1 support and individual learning plans.
We allocate a key person who will baseline a child and gather all the information we hold on them which will include likes and dislikes prefered learning styles etc.
The setting holds regular parents evening so you are able to meet with your child's key person. You can look at what your child has been learning, look at your childs tracking and development.
We track childrens progress at least three times during a school year this information is used to plan your childs learning.
We undertake a very comprenstive transition we look at the school you have chosen we look at the options for visits and work out an individual plan based on your childs needs and abilities.
During meetings with parents we will discuss how much support we can offer and how we can best match this to the childs needs.
