Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
I will assess their development and work with parents and other agencies about any concerns, attend regular training to provide the best care I can, and attend any specifc training needed to support development/health of an indiviual child
I observe each child individually and match development to the child's needs.
I will monitor progress regularly and support the child and parent with any specific needs and feed information to parents and professionals if needed.
I have constant contact with children with being in a smaller group setting.
With support to both child and parent a development plan will be made to ensure the child feels secure and develops well whilst in transition to the next stage of development.
In partnership with other professionals when needed.
Parents will be given information on a daily basis about child's development, and the journal given for parents to comment in and add any information they want.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
Specialist services are available to all children in my setting if they need them this can be through referral by myself or the health visitor, I will ensure the right support is given.
No specific training. Experience with children with autism/ ADD/ ADHD and Aspergers. I work with multi agencies to provide the best support to parents.
- How accessible is our setting?
All children are included in trips and discussed with parent beforehand
Not currently wheelchair accessible, but there is a possibilty to have accessibility made to provide continuous care.
A wide range of resources are available in one room for all stages of development
