Mencap offers Employ Me which is an employment service for adults with a learning disability.
Mencap also offers Me Time which offers informal learning through social, leisure and community-based activities.
All adults wishing to access Employ Me and Me Time will need a referral to access these services. These can be through other services, organisations or self referral.
The Priory Campus base is fully accessible for disabled people. Employ Me is an employment service so will not be based at Priory Campus all of the time.
All Mencap staff have received training. All services are run to be person centered and inclusive. Support carers and PAs can stay for Me Time services. Employ me is an employment service so individuals are supported, however the individual will be aiming for paid work as an outcome so needs to have enough independence to achieve this.
Mencap continually ask for feedback through our monitoring of person centered plans, which allow the individual to be directly involved in the planning of the service they receive. Mencap uses newsletters, social media and many other forms of communication to service users and the wider public.
Facilitators of Me Time, Coordinators of Employ Me and Locality Managers can be contacted regarding compliment, concern or complaints. Mencap have internal policies and resources for this and encourage regular feedback from all service users.
For Me Time there is a charge of £5 per session. Sessions last for 3 hours.
Mencap has it's own specific support facilities (direct phone service, support services etc) for advice, support or any other support/information that is needed.
Mencap works with relevant statutory and voluntary agencies/services, each service will cover various areas such as health, social care, education, benefits, employment etc.
