Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
I follow the EYFS tracking childrens development. If they seem to be falling behind in a specific area then I will access help relating to that area with parents help and permission. Parents can always speak with their health visitor or doctor aswell to access and additional help.
All parents have access to my online system which have there childs development file on. so we can both see what stage the child is at and any areas they may need a little help with.
We believe firstly that every child should be happy so we like to settle a child with us and make sure we build up a trustworthy caring enironment for a child to learn in.
We do the school run all together every day so young children get a feel for the school and know where they are going each day and see the routine of the older children. i alo do a transition report for teaching staff in the school to have a read throoughand get to know the child before they start. my local school also offer transition mornings for the child to visit and ge tto meet staff.
Support will all depend on the level of care your child needs.
Parents need to be involved 100% attending meetings and working together to provide the best education for the child.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
I will access further training when required
- How accessible is our setting?
Wide door and no steps for wheelchair access. Downstairs toilet.
