Darton Family Centre: Things to Do

Darton Family Centre is situated on the upper floor of the Darton Centre, Huddersfield Road, Darton. The family centre is easily accessed following the sloping footpath around the outside of the building. The centre is currently used as an Outreach building, and is therefore only open for the advertised sessions.

Darton Family Centre provides a warm welcome to its users, with a comfortable space which is used for a Breast feeding support group on Wednesday mornings 9:30am till 11am. This group is a drop-in session for families of breast feeding babies, and provides support and advice from a member of the Infant Feeding Support Team, as well as peer-support from other breast feeding parents.

Darton Family Centre also hosts a Sensory Group for babies- Twinkle Stars, for families with babies under 12 months old. Twinkle Stars offers a variety of sensory stimulating play activities for you and your baby to explore, in a calm and relaxed environment. This group is also run on a drop-in basis Thursday 1pm till 2:30pm, and is therefore open to all families without the need to book.

The family centre has a private enclosed garden area which is safe for children of all ages to access, and provides lots of learning opportunities.

The Darton Centre is a central Hub for Health Visitors and Community Nursery Nurses, who host a Well Baby clinic on Wednesday mornings. The clinic is currently run on a drop-in basis from 9:30 am.
