Tick Tocks Nursery
As a family owned setting we recognise the importance of offering a high quality service to both child/children and their families. We offer a friendly and approachable service and will do our best to accommodate your needs. Children are at the heart of all we do and as such their learning and development is centred on their individual needs. We value, respect and welcome parents/carers input and as such will involve and support you in your child’s learning at every opportunity.
The manager of the setting has extensive knowledge of supporting children with additional needs. The Setting also provides an Afterschool Club and Holiday club. We have a fantastic light, airy and spacious room that accommodates our early years children, and the afterschool and holiday club is based in a large room that offers a games console, quiet room and arts and crafts opportunities.
Tick Tocks understands the importance of working with and supporting the work of other professionals and as such welcomes their input into the setting. Check out our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Tick-tocks-at-Summer-Lane-1468578783391572/

- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
Through a process of observation and assessment we will be able to identify children who may need additional support, however, the experience of the staff within the setting will also support the identification of any needs. Through conversations with parents/carers and other professionals any issues shall be supported.
We are happy to work closely with other professionals and offer a warm welcome to all in the setting.
This would be tailored to meet children's individual needs, the learning opportunities shall be differentiated to ensure they meet all children's needs.
Through a process of involving parents and a continuous cycle of observation and assessment; we will be able to identify and track children's development and offer solutions and/or ideas for activities that parents can implement at home.
Children will be supported to develop all areas of their development, most importantly personal, social and emotional development as this is the foundation upon which all other areas of learning will grow.
This is made after consultation with parents, key staff and other professionals.
Parents are supported to contribute to and guide their children's learning.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
We will work with all relevant agencies, health, speech & language services, physiotherapists etc.
There is a very experienced SENCO based on the premises all staff will recieve appropriate training and guidance.
- How accessible is our setting?
Children's ideas will be sought through appropriate methods, interests will be planned for and learninge experiences planned.
Throughout these activities, children's opinions and reactions will be recorded and the activities altered accordingly
The setting has 2 entrances, one of which has 5 steps, the other is situated to the rear of the property and is ideal for wheelchair/pushchair access. The nursery and afterschool club is situated on one level and the large open rooms and wide doorways ensure the setting is accessible for all.
Resources and staffing will be in place prior to a child starting, this is to ensure individual needs are catered to and that any specialist training and/or equipment is in place.
