Sidcop Nursery is Ofsted registered and has been open since 1995. We had our most recent Ofsted inspection in March 2017 and were rated as Outstanding - The inspector commented "Children are at the heart of every decision staff make. They fully understand and relish their responsibility for supporting children's learning"
We have 3 practitioners who are qualified Early Years Teachers and all other practitioners are qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Childcare. All staff have up to date First Aid and Safeguarding training.
All meals and snacks are freshly prepared on site by our Healthy Lifestyles Cook who ensures children enjoy healthy meals. We are dedicated to meeting the dietary needs of all children in our care.
Sidcop Nursery provides a well-resourced indoor and outdoor environment. We have recently extended our outdoor area with plans to grow our own vegetables to use in our kitchen and provide children with a more natural area to play.
We have excellent links with all local primary schools and with the support of our experienced team of practitioners we will ensure your child is ready for their next stage of learning.

Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
In depth observations and assesments are made termly. These are shared with parents who can raise any concerns that they may have.
Experienced practitioners highlight with parents any concerns they may have with their keyworker children.
Excellent links are formed with local schools to ensure that a smooth transition takes place for all individual children.
Each child is looked at individually and support plans are put in place to ensure that all the childrens needs are met. We will try our upmost to ensure that everyone is treated individually.
The curriculum in nursery is based around children's interests and their next steps. We offer an interesting and stimulating learning environment.
Observations are made each term of your child and their learning. We will share this with parents and together we will identify your child's next steps, this includes sugestions of how you can help your child at home.
We will then collect information throughout the term which is put in your child's learning journal, these are available for you to see at any point during the term.
At Sidcop we follow the Thrive programme and children are supported using different techniques to understand their feelings and emotions.
We have great links with all local primary schools, so we can ensure the children are ready to move on. We actively encourage our children to be independent individuals by having consistent routines and boundaries, so they are confident in their abilities and are ready to move on to their next stage of learning.
Parents are invited to come along for different events such as coffee morning's, fundraising events and parents evenings.
We have a voluntary management committee which has parent representatives on board and we are always looking for new members.
