Samantha Shaw (Childminder)
I have been a childminder since 2008, providing Outstanding (Inspection result June '15) home from home childcare with my husband who is also a registered childminder. We have 2 children of our own who are now both in school. Our setting comprises of a playroom cabin, large kitchen/diner and garden with extensive toys and play equipment and a large allotment that we use as additional outdoor space.
We have wheelchair access to the downstairs rooms and an accessible downstairs toilet. We value natural resources and helping children develop their potential in an independent way.
We are both level 3 Childcare qualified and my husband is a level 3 Forest Schools Practioner, I am a Masters graduate have recently done a Childminding Montessori course as we provide Montessori inspired childcare. We both hold advanced Makaton qualifications and have extensive experience with children who have SEN (including our own son). I have attended numerous courses including Advanced Safeguarding, child development, behaviour management, speech and language development, characteristics of effective learning, outdoor and woodland learning, healthy eating for under 5s, food hygeine, paediatric first aid.
