Tick Tocks Out of School Club
Tick Tocks Afterschool Club We have a fantastic light, airy and spacious room that accommodates our early years children, and the afterschool and holiday club is based in a large room that offers a games console, quiet room and arts and crafts opportunities. As a new setting we recognise the importance of offering a high quality service to both child children and their families.
We offer a friendly and approachable service and will do our best to accommodate your needs. Children are at the heart of all we do and as such their learning and development is centred on their individual needs.
We value, respect and welcome parents/carers input and as such will involve and support you in your child’s learning at every opportunity. The manager of the setting has extensive knowledge of supporting children with additional needs.
Tick Tocks understands the importance of working with and supporting the work of other professionals and as such welcomes their input into the setting. Check out our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Tick-tocks-at-Summer-Lane-1468578783391572/

- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
All children are supported with a thorough induction period, which involves meeting the child/children and speaking at length with the child’s parents/carers. This may also include discussions with other professionals involved in the child’s care. This period of information gathering ensures that we can meet the child’s needs.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
Our staff has supported a number of children with special educational needs and disabilities, amongst which are children with communication and interaction difficulties, children with visual impairment and children with physical disabilities.
We have supported children on a 1 to 1 basis if required.
All staff have experience of using Makaton and some staff have used the Picture Exchange System to support children’s communication.
- How accessible is our setting?
The setting has 2 entrances, one which is accessed via steps from the nursery car park and one which is accessed via a slight slope, perfect for wheelchair or pram access.
Inside there are no steps to negotiate as the nursery and afterschool club are situated on one level. The nursery, afterschool club and holiday club are all located in bright, large spaces. We have no small rooms and children can easily move around the environment.
