Local Offer

I am a childminder working with an assistant and we  do our best to meet the needs of all children. We work in partnership with parents and other professionals.

Schools Extended Local Offer Response

How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?

Parents should speak to me or my assistant. We would identify if children may have SEN through observation and assessment and discussion with parents.

Work together, attend meetings, attend training, care plans, support from other professionals, through development records, discussion, assessments

We offer settling in visits, parents stay and play, questionnaires, verbally, reports, transition visits

We will encourage your child to be school ready by introducing activities that involve getting ready for school. this may include being able to tie a shoe lace, putting on their own coats, to writing their name. It may involve taking the child to school on taster days which we are happy to do.

Information will be shared regularly through daily diaries, questionnaires, all about me sheets, weekend sheets (What I did at home)

What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?

Extra support can be accessed through Inclusion services, speech and language, portage etc.

I have attended a SEND information session

How accessible is our setting?

Risk Assessments, permissions, ratios will be looked at according to need.

Premises are fully accessible.
