Social Communication and Interaction (SCI) Service
The SCI Team support children and young people with a range of communication and interaction needs, including those with a diagnosis of autism.
They work in educational settings with all ages, providing strategies to meet the needs of the child or young person.
Their aim is to support practitioners and families to meet the needs of children with social communication and interaction They offer training for schools as well as training for parents and families which includes:
- Parent Transition Preparations Y6 to Y7 and Y11 to Post 16
- Cygnet Parenting Programme
- First Steps/Footsteps Parent Workshops
- Thinking Differently Parent Workshop
Children can be referred to the service by schools at regular planning meetings.
Early years settings can seek advice and support at one of our Social Communication and Interaction Consultation Surgeries.
