Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
I would talk to parents and advice for referral to help the child being assessed,to provide one to one support if required and help to meet the child needs.
By working in partnership with school and keeping updated with curriculum by following the requirement needed for the child's development.
By communicating and supporting each other with support and having a plan in place to support the child.
Depending on the child's needs support will be provided accordingly.
Meeting with specialists and school to get the information needed to help the child.
Ongoing review and feedback to help the child and meet their needs.
Being in a good relationship and to continue to communicate
Working together to achieve the same goal.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
- How accessible is our setting?
By assessing the child's needs and doing a risk assessment before visitng the area or booking for a trip.
Good access to my home environment including wheelchair access.
Depending on the child's needs, there are resources for children to use while in my setting.
Once a child has been given a statement, I work alongside with the outside agency and get advise on resources I need to use for the child's education needs.
