What outcomes does your service aim to achieve for children and young people with special educational needs and disability and their families?

For children to gain a love for the outdoors, the emotional wellbeing and inspiration from nature as well as outdoor skills such as fire making, den building, tracking, pioneering, knots, whittling and tool use and much more.

How accessible is the service and facilities for those with a disability

We meet at Silverwood Scout Camp which is accessible by a mile long non paved road.  The site itself consists of fields pathways and uneven ground.  The buildings are fully accessible although due to the nature of the activities these are not often used.  We have enough staff to accomodate children of all abilities and explore the site.

Future developments

The service is fully reliant on funding via the Aiming High programme, however we are always exploring opportunities to support the continued professional development or our staff volunteers.
