Nursery staff will work together with parents and outside agencies to ensure that each child's individual needs are met and are fully supported
Staff will work with the child and the parents to determine if extra support is required and will source support from other professionals to put strategies in place to ensure that each child is making continuous progress in learning and development.

- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
By working together with parents, the staff will carry out a baseline assessment when the child first attends the nursery.
This will be followed by regular observations and assessments in which the parents are included. This will enable staff to identify any areas in which a child may require additional support.
Through our open door policy, we encourage parents to discuss any concerns with their child's key person so that we can ensure that this is used to inform individual planning and obsevations for the child. We will work closely with parents to ensure that we are all working together to meet these needs.
All children have individual planning which is directed to each child's next steps and interests. Activities are planned from assessments and observations inform these assessments.
Children spend time in small family groups , with their key person and parents are encouraged to input into the planning and are advised on how they can support their child's learning at home.
Parents are encouraged to input into their child's learning journey and regular meetings are arranged with parents and key persons to discuss your child's development and learning.
The family ethos of the nursery encourages children and parents to build up a close relationship with the key person and staff are available to discuss any concerns with parents as they arise.
Parents are encouraged to join in activities and we value parents' input into planning and welcome them to share their knowledge and expertise
All children are supported to continue their journey to school. This is through transition, which will include sharing paperwork, discussions with teachers, visits to school, invitations for teachers to visit child in nursery and parents are included in the transition process.
An early help assessment will identify how much individual support will be required for a child with additional needs and this will determine the level.
