I aim to provide a quality childminding service that exceeds the minimum standards required by Ofsted and that is tailored to suit your family needs.

Childminding is more than a job to me, I am passionate about providing every child in my care the opportunity to not only reach his or her full potential but also to experience a warm loving home-based environment.

I believe in working in partnership with parents/carers as with their knowledge about the child I can provide a play based curriculum which is planned around each child's interests, likes, stages of development and family experience.

The children in my care are taken to local playgroup sessions, so they get to mix with children of similar age range, this helps with their social skills. I offer funded places for 2 year olds. I also offer 15 hours nursery education funded spaces for 3/4 year olds, plus 30 hours for children who qualify for the additional funding, if you have any questions please do ask.

I use the EYFS framework to assess development and plan next steps. Any cause for concern is raised with parents and I support them in seeking help from health visitor, GP or any other outside resources ie speech and language therapy.

I work alongside parents and other professionals undertaking training when necessary to meet a child’s specific needs.

Childrens individual needs are met through observing, assessing and planning. Next steps are identified and activities are planned to support children in achieving these.

I use an online system to share information with parents. Progress trackers, Observations, Photographs, medical and accident records are available for parents to view and contribute to 24/7. All preschool children receive a handover report once they start school.

I work in partnership with parents and caters to meet the needs of the children I care for. I work together with parents to ensure that the care of their child is consistent.

All children and adults are treated with equal concern and are made to feel welcome. Parents are provided with all policies and procedures which detail how the setting is run. I keep parents regularly informed about daily routines and childcare practices through a private Facebook page.

As a child grows and develops, issues may crop up that are very important for us to discuss in order for us to work together. Parents wishes are incorporated into my care routines for a child. these could include weaning, potty training, managing behaviour or starting school etc.

How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?

As an  Early Years Provider I use the Early Years Foundation Stage and track children's development. So we can help identify if a child may need additional help. 

The Early Years Foundation Stage is an individualised play based curriculum and as such we plan to each child's individual needs, working in partnership with other professionals, parents and the child.

The EYFS tracks children's progress and I do online Learning Journals which you can view at anytime.

I work in close partnership with parents and welcome suggestions on how you can help, I always ensure that children are safe and happy.

What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?


I have attended SENCO training.

I have recieved training on using Wellcomm, which is a speech and language pack, we can assess children on entry so if any additional help is required, this can be arranged quickly.

I have attended basic Makaton training to support children who are non verbal.

How accessible is our setting?

All children are included in trips we risk assess each activity so all children can benefit.

Children are encouraged to participate in all activities whatever their ability. Outings and activities are risk assessed and have parental permission.

Due to having steps to access the property unfortunately the setting is not suitable for wheelchairs, but I’m happy to look at the needs of your child to meet them.

Children are assessed or ensure their needs are being met and to identify any additional resources that may be required.
