Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
Childrens development and learning is recorded and tracked so we can identify if any extra help is needed. Parents can always approach me with any concern and we can develop an IEP or ask for outside help.
I work in partnership with parents and outside agencies/professionals if necessary.
Children are assessed against early years framework in the first few weeks, no matter where they fall in the frame work I will make children individual attainable targets and goals.
I send folders home with an up to date progress review and targets that we are working towards frequently. This includes what parents can do with the children at home to work towards these targets. Parents are also asked to be involved forming targets and goals.
A top priority for us is to make sure children are happy here and feel secure. We take their views and interests into account when planning activities.
we have strong links with the local primary school and the little ones enjoy taking the older ones to school and looking around the classrooms. i work towards the Early Learning Goals in the childrens run up to going to school to prepare them for the sorts of things school would expect.
We try to give the children as much support as they need. We do this by keeping our numbers low so each child's individual needs are met.
Parents are involved in helping form targets/goals. We keep parents informed of our projects/themes and keeping us up to date on new interests of their child.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
I can access all universal and targeted services
at the moment we have no children here with additional need. but staff have basic training and I have SENCO training
- How accessible is our setting?
Children are always included in the decision on where they would like to go. We do our best to keep everyone happy.
Doesn't have access for wheelchairs as we have a narrow path and a couple of steps
Resources are bought according to our planning/ childrens next steps
