- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
Through observations and monitoring of progress it is possible to identify where children need addional help. Parents can also identify their children's progress and share concerns.
Dependant on needs will take instruction from both parents and professionals.
Using the Early Years Foundation Stage, childrens interests/levels will be matched and supported.
Through sharing of information about observations and assessments done on the children's learning.
As a small setting I am able to ensure that all childrens health and wellbeing needs are met through individualised support.
regular observations are under taken, work on their educational needs, relationship building with other children and adults. using a new tracking system that all staff will be given training on we are able to track there language/speech abilities and track where they are at.
Through observation will decide if needs can be met or will take direction from others/professionals and from any EHCP/statement/assessments.
Sharing of information regularly and diaries if requested are sent home for parents to contribute to. A newsletter can also provide information and advice for parents. information is sent home daily, regular photos taken and sent home.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
No specialist services are available at the setting but by referral and request other services can be accessed.
all staff have had send and senco awareness training, myself and assistent have done a challenging behaviour, and autism awareness course 20.3.2017.
- How accessible is our setting?
As I work with an assistant individual support can be offered at all times. all areas outside activity are risk assesed for each child.
there is level acess to the front, only restriction i the bottom of a standard door frame, a standard wheelchair is able to go through, and back is accesible to children who are less mobile but does have 1 step, if back door is needed as an access point for a wheelchair user then arrangements can and will be sorted.
inclusive resources are provided dependant on need.
