The Fun Box Out of School Club
The Fun Box is owned and managed by Chris Bedford and was established in 2013.
Chris is a qualified level 3 Playworker and has also got 17 years experience as a teaching assistant.
The Fun Box started as a family run business and still has staff including Chris’ husband and her parents, who are the financial support behind the club.
We take childcare very seriously and understand the trust you place with us when you choose our club to look after and care for your children.
We aim to give all children the opportunity to gain personal, social and emotional development, benefiting from activities and resources which help them to value diversity.
We encourage good relationships with parents and other providers in the area.
We are constantly examining our environment and always improving our care. Our team are well trained, experienced, caring and are committed to our responsibility to the children, parents and staff who form our little community.”
The Fun Box provides wrap around care to children age 3-16 who attend Holy Trinity School. We operate according to our Play Policy which is founded on the fundamental right of children and young people to play as recognised by:
Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states that: “Parties recognise the right of the child to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.”
It is The Fun Box’s intention to provide this right and offer children and young people attending the club with rich opportunities to play.
We also have a simulating environment both indoors and outdoors, including 2 trim trails and a MUGA (multi use games area) outside and an activity room and sports hall inside.
All foods available for breakfast and snacks are healthy and all dietary needs are met.
Staff are qualified to level 2/3 standard and all are paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene trained.
All areas of our club have facilities to provide access to children with a variety of disabilities and needs.
