What’s on offer at Worsbrough Common family centre?
The centre is situated within Worsbrough Common Primary School. We offer a wide range of services for Families and their Children and young people aged 0-19 years, 25 years with a disability.
Our centre is open all year round, closing just for Christmas, Bank holidays and training days.
The groups and services we deliver include:
We have brand new and exciting programmes coming for September including new Baby & Toddler groups, one off workshops, joint working with schools and other services and plenty of time for your local Outreach Workers to be out in the community meeting you all, getting to know the areas and seeing what you all want to see at your local family centre.
For your Baby:
Baby massage encourages and enhances the bond between you and your baby and creates special one to one time. It can also help babies who suffer from tummy troubles. This group is for babies from 6 weeks old and is delivered over 4/5 weeks.
As your baby grows they are learning to use muscles for the first time. Baby yoga promotes the use and strengthening of those muscles and helps to develop their physical development. This group is aimed at babies who are not crawling and is delivered over 4 weeks.
This session is for families with babies coming up to 6 months and are ready to start introducing foods. We will give advice and answer any questions you may have.
Dummy information session
This session is for families to come along to get advice and tips on how to stop your child using a Dummy. You can also bring the Dummy along for us to take away in place of a special gift.
Potty Training information session
This session is for families looking at Potty training their children and would like advice and tips on how to start and how to help their child.
Programmes for Older children
Family Fun Programme
This is aimed at 5-11years. It is a 6/12 week programme for all the family to enjoy getting active while making memories. The sessions are after school and siblings are welcome.

Community First Aid - Call, Push, Rescue
This is a two hour session of basic emergency first aid, and the session covers, CPR, Recovery position, heart attack, choking and serious bleeding. Our Outreach Workers also currently deliver this in local schools to year 6.
Throughout the school holidays we provide sessions and trips for all families with children aged 0-19. Please follow our Facebook for more information or check in our groups.
Our sessions are all £1.50 contribution per family, all the contributions go back into the centre to enable us to provide snacks and resources.

Additional information and support
We have a range of online parenting courses. The courses will help you through every stage of having a child, and provide useful strategies, information and reassurance you are doing a great job.

Sleep tight is a course for parents’ with children from aged 1 year old and looks at why your child may not be sleeping, the right kind of bedtime environment and helps you put good bedtime routines in place.
Talking teens gives practical information over 4 weeks to support you to understand and communicate with your teenager, helping your deal with conflict and promote a happier family life.
Early Help and Family Support
We offer Early Help for families as well as one to one support, advice and guidance.
