I am a firm beliver in good manners and will encourage all children to develop and use these, I also believe in developing confidence and independence at the right age and stage for each individual child, helping them to become confident young learners in an environment where they feel safe, happy and ready to learn.
I have twin boys of my own who I will care for alongside other children. I work with 2 assistants; Becky who is level 3 qualified and Chloe who is an apprentice assistant level 1 qualified training towards level 2 and 3.
All staff have first aid training that is kept up to date.
I have a designated play room for the older children and will also use the living room for the smaller children and for quieter times during the day.
The children will have access to a large back garden which is secured with a fence and a locked gate.
I also have a kitchen/dining area and downstairs toilet facilities which will be beneficial to the children as this is all on one level reducing the use of stairs in the setting.
I will offer school drop offs and pickups to the local schools, these being Mapplewell and Wellgate initially. However, other schools may be considered if I am able to accomodate them.

Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
Each child has a record of acheivement where observations, assessments and learning is logged. This highlights any areas of concern and is available for parents to view. Parents should raise concerns with me, I will signpost them to the relevant support and work withthem to further support their child.
Adaptations can be made to accomodate children with SEN. Planning and activities will take in to consideration SEN children and their families.
All children will have a baseline assessment/observation upon starting. I will then use individual starting points and next steps/needs when planning and implementing activities and further learning.
I will share ROA's with parents/daily discussions. I will complete daily diaries for each child with suggested next steps on. I will also encourage parents to share weekly achievements / home activities.
Personal, social and emotional development is covered through all aspects of my work. Children are encouraged to develop this daily. Times will be given for outdoor play and rest/sleep.
Individual childrens records would be used to establish the requirement for additional support. General support day to day will depend on childrens ages and stages of development.
I send home daily diaries with information of activities and next steps to encourage further learning this is done using an on;ine system called Babysdays and is accessible by all registered children's parents and carers via individual login details. Parents are welcomed in the setting and I welcome ideas/criticisms to provide best practice
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
I have training in Makaton and have completed portage training in the past.
Booked to attend SEND training on 23/11/15
- How accessible is our setting?
I will make use of local facilities such as play areas, play groups and parks as well as the local library. Other planned visits may be arranged further afield to parks, farms or seaside trips as well as museums and other attractions.
All on one level. 1 small step at both front and back door. Downstairs toilet facilities.
All resources are age and stage appropriate and adaptations can be made where required.
