St Martins Private Day Nursery
St Martins Day Nursery has been open since July 2003 and is a family run nursery.
The premises are soley owned by the nursery and stand in their own fenced compound. The nursery is separated into Baby room for under 2's, Toddler room for 2 year olds and Main room for 3 - 5 year olds. The nursery has access to 2 secure outdoor play areas that have locked access from the outside. We also have an out of school club facility that caters for children up to 11.
St Martins is on the main Barnsley to Pontefract road in the middle of Lundwood and is within a short walk from the local primary school and Family Centre both of whom we have good links with. The nursery is all on ground level with full access without any steps. St Martins currently has 16 staff that work directly with children as well as 3 additional staff who do cooking, office work and paperwork.
Our nursery manager is qualified to level 4 in childcare and we have a full time qualified teacher with EYP status who works with the 3 - 4 year olds and works with the manager in all staff development and nursery practice. All our staff that work with children are qualified to level 3 or working towards level 3 and 5 staff are qualified to level 4 or above. The team of staff working at St Martins have been here for a number of years and many have been with us since we opened 16 years ago.
At our last OFSTED inspection we were awarded OUTSTANDING. We are also part of the local authority Quality improvement programme.
