Rainbows, Brownies, Girl Guides and The Senior Section

Rainbows is for all girls aged five to seven

Rainbows learn by doing – they get their hands dirty, do sports, arts and crafts and play games. Being a Rainbow is all about having the space to try new things.

Brownies is for all girls aged seven to ten

Girls in Brownies have incredible experiences together, make brilliant friends and discover the world around them. Every time they meet up, groups of Brownies learn new skills and take on challenges as they work out what they want to be and do in the future.

Guides is for all girls aged 10 to 14

In Guides you'll get out there and do something really different.

You'll create your own campaigns, learn and share new skills and fly down the occasional zip wire. You'll explore new places - Guides go on camps, holidays and trips, enjoy exciting events like our star-studded concert the BIG GIG and our music festival, Wellies and Wristbands.

The Senior Section is for all young women aged 14 to 25

Travel the world, learn to lead, raise your voice and build an incredible CV. Whatever you want to do, The Senior Section offers a range of unique opportunities.

With a programme designed around your personal development, The Senior Section is all about gaining valuable, transferable skills and standing up for what you believe in.

How much is it?

Our membership fees are called subscriptions, or subs. Subs vary from area to area, so ask your local unit how much subs are and when they need to be paid. Click here for further details.

If you’re concerned about any of these costs preventing your daughter from taking part, please speak to your Unit Leader. She can tell you about ways we can help, including our grants.

How registration works

  1. Register your interest - You'll be asked for your contact details and a few key pieces of information about your daughter.
  2. Choose the best unit for you - we'll use your details to suggest several local units. Then it's up to you to select the most convenient one. You can choose up to three location preferences.
  3. We'll get in touch - someone from your chosen unit will contact you, usually within three weeks. They can explain to you about meetings times, what's planned for the term and if there's a waiting list.
  4. Try guiding out! - if spaces are available, the unit will arrange a trial meeting for your daughter to attend. This gives you and her an idea of what guiding is all about - we're sure you will love it!
