- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
Our staff have experience of caring for children with a range of needs and will seek training in any need not previously encountered. Where necessary we offer an increased number of staff to look after children with additional needs. Carers are welcome to stay for an extended settling in period.
Happy Kids follows a play based curriculum, the National Early Years Foundation Stage, which helps your child learn and develop while having fun.
This is the same curriculum as used in reception classes and Children’s Centres so you know your child is receiving the same high quality learning experiences when they stay with us up until they reach compulsory school age.
You receive daily feedback from your child's key person and all your child's achievements will be documented in their learning journey which is yours to keep at the end of their time with us.
The Happy Kids at Home program offers advice and activities for parents to try at home with their child.
Please visit the parents page and Happy Kids at Home pages on our website for more information. www.happykids-childcare.co.uk
As with all parents we are constantly in touch with service users through a range of media which includes Facebook where we share daily activities with parents and ask opinions through Facebook polls. We produce a monthly parents newsletter where we inform them of what's happeniing, remind them of specific things such as bringing a healthy lunch, and show them how to get involved. We run stay and play sessions where they can spend time with their child and their key person in nursery. We hold parent evenings where we feedback on their child's progress and work with them to extend their learning outside the nursery. We use a parent questionnaire once every 6 months where we seek views and opinions. Our website has a contact us page.
- How accessible is our setting?
We are wheelchair accessible and are entirely on the ground floor level. We have disabled toilets and parking spaces for disabled drivers. We have a range of sensory toys and equipment.
