Schools Extended Local Offer Response
- How do we offer support to children or young people with a special educational need or disability?
Each child is monitored and I work closely with the child and parents, I measure the childs development against the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework to identify any areas of extra help that may be needed. Parents are able to talk to me if they have any concerns so we can work together to provide the best care for their child.
I observe each child individually and match development to the childs needs, each child has their next steps and I will help the child to achieve this.
I will work in partnership with each child's parents and other professionals that may be working with the parent to support the childs development. I will monitor the childs progress and feed information to parents and professionals, I use learning journals which have observations and photos which I will discuss each observation, and parents are able to access the learning journals at anytime.
- What specialist training, experience and expertise do we have relevant to children with special educational needs and disabilities?
I have attended my SEND awarness training and will be attending future courses when avaliable. I keep up to date with relevent training and I will attend training if needed to support each childs specific needs.
- How accessible is our setting?
All children are treated as individuals and their well being is of upmost importance well in my care, Risk assesments will be done and put into place so all children can be included in activities, trips and outings.
There is no wheelchair access.
